Research shows that the traditional concept of personal finance is not much understood and practiced by people worldwide but even a bigger concern is ignoring the cultural context of personal finance. While the western philosophy of finance is more materialistic, the traditional Bhartiya thinking has been holistic as it also takes the spiritual aspects in consideration. More details below:

The holistic approach of Bhāratīya ideas is quite visible through focus on concepts like Śubha Lābha, Puruṣārtha, Devī Lakṣmī Pūjana, Bhakti Dhana, Vidyā Dhana, Values, Saṃskāra, and Lokasaṃgraha. Perspectives provided in Śrīmadbhagavadgītā and other ancient literature gets reflected in researches of renowned thinkers like Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, and scholars like Prof. Sharda Nandram, Prof. DPS Bhawuk, Prof. S K Chakraborty, Prof. Subhash Sharma, Prof. M B Athreya. These contemporary researches have resulted into innovative concepts like integrative intelligence (Nandram et.al 2017) and higher order purpose of existence and are the seeds for a dharmic world.
