Announcement of Divali celebration

Press Release Diwali Festival Amstelveen – live online on November 7, 2020 from 2 pm!

Diwali Festival Amstelveen is being organized and celebrated for the 12th time! Only this year it will be celebrated slightly different than other years. The board of the Diwali Festival Amstelveen Foundation decided to cancel the live Diwali celebrations at the Stadshart Amstelveen. This year Diwali Festival will be broadcasted live via Facebook on Saturday 7 November from 2 pm onwards on www.facebook.com/DiwaliAmstelveen.

The Diwali Festival Amstelveen is one of the highlights of Amstelveen. Diwali is celebrated all over India regardless background or religion of the person concerned. Diwali is the most important time in the country. Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil & light over darkness.

Especially in this present day and age, celebrating Diwali is even more important because Diwali expresses hope for better times.

This year you do not have to go out; Diwali is brought to you wherever you want!

The artists which you normally hear and see performing live, will now perform for you again, but within the comfort of your home! You will see for example, Desi Steps, Abhivyakti, Navras Bollywood Dance School & Saxy Mr S!

Diwali Festival Amstelveen not only connects different cultures & backgrounds. Diwali Festival Amstelveen also unites people, as it is the case in India.

Not just people from the India diaspora like for example expats are normally present in the city center of Amstelveen. Also local residents, expats from other countries and visitors from Belgium / France / England or Germany are loyal participants. The main purpose of the Diwali Festival is to strengthen the relationships between the Indian business world and local & regional companies. All with the highest goal of helping the local residents, connecting the Indian community and the businesses in Amstelveen & surroundings. The Diwali Festival was an initiative of Mr. Gopal Ramanathan. His legacy still stands

visible through the official platform of the Diwali Festival Foundation, where organizations and companies such as Municipality of Amstelveen, KPMG, TCS, Cognizant, Allen & Overy, Sun Pharma, Briddge, Mehra holding, Abingh and Bridging the Gap Foundation together form the board of the foundation.

The Link of the online Celebration (mentioned above) is still available.
