Bhagavadgītā and Leadership

Śri Kṛṣṇa teaches His disciple Arjuna true spiritual leadership

Bhagavadgītā V: 22

The enjoyments that stem from [the sensory] contacts [with objects] are the birthplace of suffering: such [enjoyments] begin and then they end, Son of Kunti! The one who [truly] knows, does not take pleasure in these [enjoyments].

Bhagavadgītā V: 23

The person who is able to put up with the impact of [inordinate] desires and anger until the moment of death, is [truly] spiritually disciplined and happy.

Bhagavadgītā V: 24

The person who is happy within, who delights within, whose light is within, such a one practices [true] spiritual discipline (yoga), and reaches the ultimate salvation (nirvāṇa) which is Brahman, because that person has become [full of] Brahman.

Bhagavadgītā V: 25

Because their moral stains have disappeared, such [persons being like] Vedic seers reach the ultimate salvation which is Brahman. Their doubts overcome, they keep their inner nature in check, and they rejoice in the welfare of all living beings.
